Spiritual Inspiration: God and I by Iravati Harshe
A personal reflektion on God By Iravati Harshe. ”God for me means love and light. I do believe in God but I’m not particularly orthodox in matters of religion. Certain habits which I imbibed from my mother, I'm grateful for and these remain a part of my life to date - rituals like lighting a diya every morning and reciting the shlokas . I remember as a child, I had a lot of fears and I believed God was my rescuer.”

God for me means love and light. I do believe in God but I’m not particularly orthodox in matters of religion. Certain habits which I imbibed from my mother, I'm grateful for and these remain a part of my life to date - rituals like lighting a diya every morning and reciting the shlokas . I remember as a child, I had a lot of fears and I believed God was my rescuer.
I relate particularly well to Lord Ganesha and Christ. Having studied in a Catholic school, I was fortunate to absorb the best of both cultures. But truly speaking, I believe there is only one God and I recognise that God in every living being.
The past couple of years have been a huge learning experience for me. I experienced a sense of emptiness brought about by feelings that I was there for everyone else but myself. This was the time when I learnt reiki, meditation and read a number of books on spirituality.
As I gained new insights, my perspectives changed and I felt closer to God than ever before. I moved from strength to strength even as I faced certain painful happenings in my life.
My heightened awareness in God made me a stronger and softer person - no longer was I an edgy and fearful person. Around this time, I went on a trip to Jaisalmer where I travelled alone for eighteen hours, totally fearless, thinking and connecting with God.
Bridge Across Forever is a book which I have found very inspiring. The book speaks of soulmates and reincarnation - concepts I have always been in. For the past two years, I have been exposed to a spiritual group of people who meet every Sunday for spiritual channelling.
I now see myself as a spirit having a human experience. I believe much of what we experience in our present life has its roots in our past life. Certain emotions, unexplainable events are what we have carried forward from our past life.
Death is not the end - it's the beginning of a new life. We all come into this world with a blueprint of our life. But within those parameters, there's a lot you can do. The course your life takes depends a lot upon you. Human beings tend to complicate their lives and blame it on God.
I believe everyone has a higher self if only you care to reach out for it - it's that self which helps you shed negativity from your life and opens your mind to God. Two things I always remember - break down the word `ego' and you get `edge god out' and likewise, the word ` fear' gives you ` false evidence appearing real'.
God is within you. If you care to believe that miracles happen, you will be reclaiming what is rightfully yours - everyone has their personal angels who guide and support you. Like the Bible says... `Ask and you shall receive. Seek and you shall find. Knock and it shall be opened to you.'
Hi friend! The Global Oneness Community, the place for information and sharing about Oneness is not really launched yet (you will see there is still some clean up to do) ...but it is now open for a sneak-peek! And if you wish - please register and become one of the very first members to do so! Jonas
