As an army officer's son I have travelled all over the country and have learnt to respect different religions. I bow my head whenever I pass by a mandir, church or a gurdwara. Living in a defence colony gives one a cosmopolitan outlook. It makes one broadminded.
I do believe in the supreme power and I am trying to find out more about this power. I am not a follower of any particular religion. Nor do I follow any rituals. I respect Ganesha, Christ and Allah, too. When I bought my flat, my mother did ensure that I have a temple and it is an interesting combination of different religions. I have in it Lord Krishna, Guru Gobindji, Crosses and Islamic scripture quotes received from friends.
I have found that Ganesha is very special to people. They simply love Him a lot. I also have faith in Shirdi Sai Baba. I believe that religion is the medium to reach God. Killings in the name of religion are motivated by anti-social elements that do not wish for peace. The common man wants to live happily and for him religious differences do not matter.
In everyday life, people are just not bothered about it. For them, their work matters. I celebrate all festivals. I have lived with people of different communities. As such, I have celebrated Christmas as well as the Parsi New Year. Of course, with my family, Diwali and Holi have been celebration time.
I have often visited churches. I like to sit there as I enjoy the peace. Faith in God has made me emotionally stronger and I am thankful to God for all that He has given me. Besides the hard work that one puts in, His blessings are necessary for it to be converted to success.
Hi friend! The Global Oneness Community, the place for information and sharing about Oneness is not really launched yet (you will see there is still some clean up to do) ...but it is now open for a sneak-peek! And if you wish - please register and become one of the very first members to do so! Jonas
