Chakras Chakra | A Wisdom Archive on Chakra and Chakras | | Chakras Chakra
Chakras are energy centres which govern the subtle, psychosomatic aspects of our inner being. This Sanskrit term means wheel or disk, and when the chakras are awakened, they turn in a clockwise direction. The chakras open up like flowers and pour out their qualities re-establishing our inner balance and restoring our health and form.
Of the many chakras within the human body, seven have been identified as major. Chakras are first mentioned in the Vedas, ancient Hindu texts of knowledge. | |

| | | | | Chakras Chakra: The Gradational Ascent Of The MindThe Chakras are centres of Shakti as vital
force-in other words, these are centres of Pranashakti manifested by Pranavayu
in the living body, the presiding Devatas of which are the names for the
Universal Consciousness as it manifests in the form of these centres. The
Chakras are not perceptible in the gross senses. Even if they were perceptible
in the living body which they help to organise they disappear with the
disintegration of organism at death.

All the Way With Tantric Celibacy
Tantric
yoga, as a system of rituals, exercises, and philosophical teachings, was
developed over the past 2,500 years in a practical search for profound feeling
and awareness. Just as a modern scientist might spend years on a single
research problem, tantric yogis might dwell on a certain feeling for hours a
day, plumbing its every nuance and what it told them about existence. They
became experts in the arts of feeling and concentration.

The seventh center integrates all the chakras with their
respective qualities. It is the last milestone of the evolution of human
awareness. Nowadays, we are at a level which corresponds to this chakra, and
our consciousness is able to easily enter into this new realm of perception,
which is beyond our limited mind and concepts, and which becomes absolute at
the level of the Sahasrara. This chakra gives us the direct, absolute
perception of Reality on our central nervous system.

Theosophy
Occultism Mysticism Dictionary on Chakra
A
Theosophical definition of Chakra :
Chakra (Cakra, Sanskrit) A word signifying in general a "wheel," and from this simple original meaning there were often taken for occult and esoteric purposes a great many subordinate, very interesting, and in some cases highly mystical and profound derivatives. Chakra also means a cycle, a period of duration, in which the wheel of time turns once. It also means the horizon, as being circular or of a wheel-form. It likewise means certain centers or pranic spherical loci of the body in which are supposed to collect streams of pranic energy of differing qualities, or pranic energies of different kinds. T hese physiological chakras, which are actually connected with the pranic circulations and ganglia of the auric egg, and therefore function in the physical body through the intermediary of the linga-sarira or astral model-body, are located in different parts of the physical frame, reaching from the parts about the top of the skull to the parts about the pubis. It would be highly improper, having at heart the best interests of humanity, to give the occult or esoteric teaching concerning the exact location, functions, and means of controlling the physiological chakras of the human body; for it is a foregone conclusion that were this mystical knowledge broadcast, it would be sadly misused, leading not only in many cases to death or insanity, but to the violation of every moral instinct. Alone the high initiates, who as a matter of fact have risen above the need of employing the physiological chakras, can use them at will, and for holy purposes - which in fact is something that they rarely, if indeed they ever do.

The third chakra is the one that gives us the sense of
generosity, complete satisfaction and contentment. On the left side, the main
quality of this center is peace - clearing this chakra can relieve stress and
tensions. On the right side, it looks after our liver which is the organ of our
attention and power of concentration.
When enlightened by the Kundalini, the Nabhi chakra gives us our
spiritual ascent, righteousness and inner sense of morality, and complete
balance at all levels in our life.

| | | | Chakras Chakra: Vishuddhi ChakraFifth Chakra: Vishuddhi Chakra
The fifth chakra is the chakra of diplomacy, of pure relationships
with others, and of playful detachment. It removes all our guilts and remorses
when it is opened by the Kundalini, and gives us a kind and compassionate
voice. The tendencies to dominate others or to feel dominated by others, the
feelings of superiority or inferiority and all jealousies are removed when this
chakra is nourished by the Kundalini. Also, the Vishuddhi is the chakra which
gives us the connection with the whole, enabling us to feel our oneness and the
fact that we are all part and parcel of the whole.

| | | | | | Chakras Chakra: Mooladhara ChakraFirst Chakra: Mooladhara Chakra
The first chakra is situated below the sacrum bone in which
resides the Kundalini, and its main aspect is the innocence. Innocence is the
quality by which we experience pure, childlike joy, without the limitations of
prejudice or conditionings. Innocence gives us dignity, balance, and a
tremendous sense of direction and purpose in life. It is nothing but
simplicity, purity and joy.
It is the inner wisdom that is ever present in the little
children, and gets sometimes clouded by our modern lifestyles. But it is a
quality which exists eternally within us and cannot be destroyed, waiting to be
manifest as pure joy when the Kundalini rises.
