Transport : Dream Interpretation Dictionary - Transport
Transport
Forms and manner of transport can give you a clue to how you are proceeding along your life path
Cars - Are you driving or is someone else in the driving seat? Are you careering out of control (notice this word contains the word career). What state is the car in. Did the brakes fail? Maybe you need to slow down. Did you crash - maybe you need to look at where you are heading. Are you on a crash-course (which could be read as a crash course of study?.
Conversely, dreams in which we make easy, clear connections or machines that operate smoothly suggest improvements in our emotional connections. Many of the dreamers who participated in my study of dreams during bereavement reported dreams of clear connections with their deceased parent, spouse, or child. In these cases, the dreamers received messages in the dreams that dramatically helped them cope with their losses.

Performance : Dream Interpretation Dictionary - Giving an Outstanding Performance
Giving an Outstanding Performance
Of course, dreams about speeding through a test and knowing you're doing well, or performing superbly in an event, speak of a different level of confidence in the dreamer. These dreams may serve as rehearsal for an approaching performance.

Machine : Dream Interpretation Dictionary - Dream: A phone or machine works perfectly
Dream: A phone or machine works perfectly
Description: You smoothly operate a machine or telephone.
Frequency: Smooth operation dreams are fairly rare. When they occur, it is usually at a time of improved emotional connections or an enhancement of some other situation. If you are bereaved, you may dream of making clear contact with a deceased parent, spouse, child, or other relative or friend. Occasionally dreams about smoothly operating machines relate to improved health.
Usual meanings: You feel as though you are making a good connection with someone or something, you believe that you can really reach him or her or feel in close touch. You feel as though you've connected with someone on an emotional level or have had an insight into something. You may believe you are having contact with the deceased. Your machine may represent your own body and be telling you that things are working well
Questions to ask yourself:
Who are you reaching or who is contacting you in your dream?
What was the person saying to you?
What intellectual connection or insight could this dream represent?
Animals function from instinct, reacting to pleasure or pain. Having differing degrees of memory and the ability for attention, animals lack the evolutionary development including sufficient brain capacity needed for imagination. Most animals in a dream will represent the dreamer's habits.

Birds : Dream Interpretation Dictionary - Various Bird Symbology:
Various Bird Symbology:
White Dove: well known symbol of peace; a symbol of the Holy Spirit descending on Christ, as depicted in many artistic works. A pair of white doves is a common symbol of love and devotion.
Mourning Dove: commonly thought of as a potential symbol of upcoming death to someone you know, but only if it is seen in unusual circumstances and not just eating at the bird feeder or sitting on a telephone line.
Eagle: Among the 7 mortal sins, depicts pride; among the 4 cardinal virtues, justice. Symbol of John the Evangelist, depicting spiritual cognition, faith, healing and ascension. Similar powerful symbol of the Great Spirit to the American Indians, who use it's feathers in many ceremonial dress & implements.
Goose: symbol of fidelity and loyalty. Could also be a metaphor for
"being goosed" or "acting like a goose."
Ostrich: closing eyes to unpleasant facts. Just mentioning "Y2K" will make many ostriches out of you! <smile> Also a symbol of meditation, since the Ostrich parent does not sit and hatch it's eggs, but lets the sun do it's work while it guards them vigilantly.
Owl: wisdom, as portrayed in so many children's stories and cartoons.
Peacock: pride, vanity and showing off due to the male's proud strut; but the male does this as part of his mating ritual to get the attention of the female, so I would apply this as such. It is used to symbolize the American CBS network, and a metaphor could be "showing your true colors." The peacock also symbolizes joy in the afterlife. True story: my mother & I visited my grandmother's grave one afternoon to find a living, breathing peacock standing there staring at us. When I found out that it symbolized "joy in the afterlife," you can imagine how special that was. How often does one find a peacock standing on a grave? Coincidence, my foot!
Nightingale: symbolizes yearning and pain; in Christianity it
symbolizes the longing for heaven.
Raven: intelligence; oftentimes depicting things we really prefer not to hear.
Stork: instantly recognizable in our culture as a symbol that a baby has been delivered or is due, possibly due to the young stork's habit of gratefully feeding it's parents when it becomes a fledgling; or due to the stork's return after winter migration, when nature begins anew.
Swan: transformation, as in from "ugly duckling" into a beautiful swan. Also symbolizes loyalty and fidelity.
Turkey: Is any American unfamiliar with the symbology of "Turkey Day?" Also referred to as a metaphor often used to describe something as being silly, or an embarrassing failure or dud.
Vulture: impending death, or a metaphor for waiting to take advantage of someone in dire trouble, as in "the vultures are circling."
Egg: symbolizes primal beginnings from which all life springs forth;
also in Christianity this is a symbol of resurrection (ever wonder where the thought of Easter Eggs came from?), as in Christ breaking out of his tomb similar to a chick breaking free from it's egg. Could also have metaphorical influence, such as the age-old question, "Which came first--the chicken or the egg?" In this manner it could be saying, "Some questions can never be answered by mere humans, so quit agonizing over a problem without solutions and deal with what-is, as it is."
Other types of symbology involving birds: metaphors such as
"bird-brain", "You eat like a bird", "birds of a feather flock
together," "that's for the birds", "A bird in the hand is worth 2 in the
bush", "feathered friends", etc. Just apply the metaphor to the context of your dream to get the gist of what the symbology entails. Also helpful is relating bird dream symbols to song lyrics. Think of how many different songs mention birds in one way or another.
Transportation : Dream Interpretation Dictionary - Missing some mode of transportation
Missing some mode of transportation. Missing a plane is fairly common, and often means that youÕre feeling like you missed an opportunity. To understand how this relates to your life ask yourself where you are going in the dream and why?

Machine : Dream Interpretation Dictionary - Machine or telephone malfunction
Machine or telephone malfunction
Moderately common, and more frequent in women. These occur when you feel anxious about making an emotional connection or when you feel you're losing touch with someone. They can relate to mechanical difficulties with your body.
Flip side: Smooth operation
These usually occur when you feel there is an improvement in emotional connection. Garfield says many of the dreamers who participated in her study during bereavement reported dreams of clear connections with their deceased loved ones. Messages they received during the dreams helped them cope with their losses.

To dream that you sustain a fall, and are much frightened, denotes that you will undergo some great struggle, but will eventually rise to honor and wealth; but if you are injured in the fall, you will encounter hardships and loss of friends.
To dream of drowning, denotes loss of property and life; but if you are rescued, you will rise from your present position to one of wealth and honor.
To see others drowning, and you go to their relief, signifies that you will aid your friend to high places, and will bring deserved happiness to yourself.
For a young woman to see her sweetheart drowned, denotes her bereavement by death.
Falling dream: Am I feeling heavy, unsupported, worried about something? How can I feel freer, lighter? Also: do I need to be more grounded? (ideal outcome: feeling safe, landing, floating or flying)
Animals - Instinctive part of self attuned to nature and survival (survival in the social world). Animals sometimes represents one's parents, especially their relationship to a parent (love, hate, etc.). Being chased by an animal may represent some repressed emotion or aggression. Look at the particular animal to determine the symbol it may represent.

Animals : Dream Interpretation Dictionary - Children and Dreams - A Mean Animal
A Mean Animal
These dreams usually involve being chased or attacked by a wild animal, or even a domestic animal that has become enraged. The bull, the lion or the giant spider that chases the child may be a recurring image in a series of chase dreams.
What you need to know:
The animals that give chase in dreams typically represent a situation involving some person that could be troubling to your child. While such nightmares are not necessarily an indication of a serious situation, it may be useful to ask your child to draw the mean animal and to share with you the typical story line of the dream. Because your child probably won't make any connections between the scary dream and a scary life situation, you'll want to inquire at another time whether there is anyone at school or in the neighborhood that she finds scary.

Attacked : Dream Interpretation Dictionary - Being attacked
BEING ATTACKED AND DYING
Dreams of death and attacks can be really bizarre. One physiological explanation for this is that the brain with excessive data to process, makes random connections and coupled with the possible intense emotional state of the dreamer, could produce a dream of attack or death
After the September 11 attacks, there were hundreds of people dreaming of future attacks, both mass attacks and individual attacks.
The ancient Greeks believed that dreams of death and fierce attacks were indicative of ill health of the dreamer.
Obviously, the dreams do not portend death. Dreams of attack may be an offshoot of extreme anxiety, while death dreams are interpreted to be heralding a massive change in the life of the dreamer, to the extent that there is a sea change in his personality.
There have been clairvoyant dreams of death (Julius Caesar was specifically warned of the Ides of march, it is believed), which is always a rare coincidence
If you piloted the airplane successfully, you may consider it an omen for unusual achievement in your business or in some extracurricular enterprise. Airplanes dropping bombs forecast disturbing news; flying in formation they portend financial gain (if the weather was good), but if the weather was bad, you may be in for a rough business ride. If you fell (or bailed) out of an airplane, you may expect some temporary reverses. If you were traveling by plane, you will probably hear news from a distance or concerning someone who lives far away.

Injury : Dream Interpretation Dictionary - Personal injury, dismemberment
Personal injury, dismemberment: What part of my lifeÑnot usually the physical bodyÑhave I been neglecting, mistreating, forgettingÑi.e. dis-membering as opposed to remembering? (ideal outcome: healing)
We use our hands to perform tasks and to communicate with others. Damage to the hands in a dream may show that we are feeling "handicapped" in some way - either not being able to do what we won't to do or express ourselves in the way we would like.
