The Global Oneness Festival

Its not in the idea but in the experience

The Global Oneness Festival is an odyssey in spiritual wisdom teachings with the roots in ancient cultures, lectures in related sciences, experiential workshops and all that inspires the body, mind and spirit. The Global Oneness Festival promotes Oneness among people and different spiritual traditions by bringing leaders and representatives from different spiritual paths together in a spirit of acceptance and unification in the coming goal for Oneness.

The Global Oneness Festival takes place regularly at several places in India and from 2005 also in other countries. Please check Global Oneness Festival for more information about the festival.

The Global Oneness Festival: Encyclopedia - Winter Solstice Festival

The Winter Solstice Festival (Chinese: 冬至; Pinyin: dōng zhì; "The Extreme of Winter") is one of the most important festivals celebrated by the Chinese and other East Asians on or around December 22 when sunshine is weakest and daylight shortest, i.e. on the day of the winter solstice (see also jiéqì). The origins of this festival can be traced back to the Yin and Yang philosophy of balance and harmony in the cosmos. After this celebration, there will be days with longer daylight hours and therefore an increase in positive energy flowing in. The philosophical significance of this is sy ...

The Global Oneness Festival: Encyclopedia II - Bayreuth Festival - Origins of the Festival

The origins of the Festival itself lie rooted in Richard Wagner's interest in establishing his financial independence. A souring of the relationship with his patron, Ludwig II of Bavaria, led to his expulsion from Munich, where he had originally intended to launch the festival. Wagner next considered Nuremberg, which would have reinforced the thematic significance of works such Die Meistersinger. On the advice of Hans Richter, however, the focu ...

Glasgow's Mayfest, held annually started in 1983 and became one of Glasgow's main festivals, held annually in May, covering theatre, arts and film and was Glasgow's attempt to rival the Edinburgh Festival in August. However it sadly closed in 1997. In 1988, Glasgow hosted its very successful Glasgow Garden Festival on old docks opposite the SECC, now home to the Glasgow Science Centre and the Pacific Quay. Following the success of the Garden Festival, Glasgow was crowned European City of Culture in 1990 and featured a year-long cal ...

The celebration traditionally lasts for nine days, culminating on the ninth day when the Sinulog Grand Parade unfolds. The day before the parade, the Fluvial Procession, a water-parade, held at dawn from the Mandaue City wharf to Cebu City wharf with the Santo Niño carried on a pump boat decked with hundreds of flowers and candles. The procession ends at the Basilica where a re-enactment of the Christianizing of Cebu follows. In the afternoon, a more solemn procession takes place along the major streets of the city, which last for hours due to ...

The festival bears the name "Woodstock" because it was originally scheduled to take place in the town of Woodstock, in Ulster County, but the town offered no appropriate site to host such a large event. A site was found in the town of Wallkill; local opposition arose, however, and the event was almost cancelled altogether. But Sam Yasgur persuaded his father Max to allow the concert to be held on the family's property, located in Sullivan County, which ...

The Global Oneness Festival: Encyclopedia II - Bayreuth Festival - Early History of the Festival

Since its opening in 1876, the Bayreuth Festival has been a socio-cultural phenomenon. Present at this unique musical event was an illustrious list of guests: Kaiser Wilhelm, Dom Pedro II of Brazil, King Ludwig (who attended in secret, probably to avoid the Kaiser), and other members of the nobility; and such accomplished composers as Anton Bruckner, Edvard Grieg, Pyotr Tchaikovsky, and Franz Liszt. Artistically, the festival was an outstanding success. ("Something has taken place at Bayreuth which our grandchildren and their children ...

But Sam Yasgur persuaded his father Max to allow the concert to be held on the family's property, located in Sullivan County, which lies to the south and to the west of Ulster County. Although the show had been planned for a maximum 50,000 attendees, over 500,000 eventually attended, most of whom did not pay admission. The h ...

The Festival was founded in 1948 by the composer Benjamin Britten, the singer Peter Pears and the librettist Eric Crozier. The original intention was to provide a home for their opera company, the English Opera Group, but the vision was soon widened to include readings of poetry, literature, drama, lectures and exhibitions of art. The first festival was held from the 5 – 13 June 1948 and used the Aldeburgh Jubilee Hall, a few doors away from Britten's house in Crabbe Street, as its main venue. It featured a performance of Albert Herring ...

The Global Oneness Festival: Encyclopedia II - Indian festivals - Zoroastrian

The Parsis account for less than 0.007% of the Indian population, but as Mahatma Gandhi said, they are "in number beneath contempt, but in contribution, beyond compare." The same could be said of their festivals. Unfortunately, like the Parsis themselves, these are private and celebrated primarily within the community. The Parsis use the Shahenshahi ("Imperial") version of the Zoroastrian calendar, which differs significantly from the Qadimi ("Ancient") version that their Iranian co-religionists use. For example, New Year is ce ...
