meaningfully kundalini can be described as a great reservoir of creative energy
at the base of the spine. Think of kundalini energy as the very foundation of
our consciousness so when kundalini moves through the sushumna and through our
cakras our consciousness necessarily changes with it.

 | | | Kundalini Yoga FAQ: Patanjali’s Guide To Self-Evolution
Patanjali’s Yoga Sutra forms the basis of all yoga that is practised today. It contains knowledge which is useful for all, whether one is an evolved yogi, a developing sadhaka or an uninitiate. In the Astanga Yoga, the eight constituents of yoga are discussed. Of these, the first constituent talks of the five Yama. These are the restraints every human being is advised to practise in day-to-day living.

 | | | Kundalini Yoga FAQ: Yoga
Sadhanas for Kundalini AwakeningOne should become perfectly desireless and
should be full of Vairagya before attempting to awaken Kundalini. It can be
awakened only when a man rises above Kama, Krodha, Lobha, Moha, Mada and other impurities. Kundalini
can be awakened through rising above desires of the senses. The Yogi, who has
got a pure heart and a mind free from passions and desires will be benefited by
awakening Kundalini. If a man with a lot of impurities in the mind awakens the
Sakti by sheer force through Asanas, Pranayamas and Mudras, he will break his
legs and stumble down.
From "Kundalini
Yoga" by Sri Swami Sivananda

 | | | Kundalini Yoga FAQ: Departing Or Death Bed Visions FAQWHAT
IS A DEPARTING VISION (OFTEN CALLED A DEATHBED VISION)?
Most
Hospice workers are very familiar with departing or deathbed visions, but
sometimes these experiences are difficult to put into words. A deathbed vision
or Death Bed Vision is a powerful, comforting experience the dying and their
family members often encounter just before death occurs. The dying will report
visions of angels, deceased loved ones or religious figures moments, hours,
days or even weeks before actual death takes place. These visions typically
lessen the fear of dying and make passing an easier transition for all
concerned.

 | | | Kundalini Yoga FAQ: Kundalini AwakensKundalini Awakening
When Rob told me my Kundalini had been
awakened, I had absolutely no idea what he was talking about. The awakening of
Kundalini is a spiritual awakening, a major step towards realization of the
divine. It is, in fact, a great boon, a great blessing and a magical gift.
According to Swami Prajananda,
"The main purpose of its
awakening in a seeker is to enable him to attain Godhood" (Muktananda,
Kundalini 9).

 | | | Kundalini Yoga FAQ: The
chakras and channels of energyChakra
- Chakras: The
chakras and channels of energy
Inside every human being there is a network of nerves and sensory
organs that interprets the outside physical world. At the same time, within us
resides a subtle system of channels (nadis) and centers of energy
(chakras) which look after our physical, intellectual, emotional and
spiritual being.
Each of the seven chakras has several spiritual qualities. These
qualities are intact within us, and even though they might not always be
manifest, they can never be destroyed. When the Kundalini is awakened, these
qualities start manifesting spontaneously and express themselves in our life.

 | | | Kundalini Yoga FAQ: The Lineage
of Swami Shivom TirthThere are numerous
ways to awaken kundalini but generally these approaches may divided into two
groups. In the first group are paths such as Mantra Yoga, Hatha Yoga, Laya Yoga
or Raja Yoga. In these paths the kundalini is awakened through the effort of
the individual. In the second group is the path that is variously called Sahaja
Yoga, Kundalini Yoga or Siddha Mahayoga. In this path the kundalini is
spontaneously awakened by the grace of the Siddha guru in a process that is
called shaktipat.

 | | | Kundalini Yoga FAQ: Communication With Spirit
- About Spirit GuidesSpirit Guides
Everyone
on the planet has spirit guides we can call upon for assistance when we are in
need of help. Although we may know that help is available, it is sometimes
difficult to access it. Some of our guides are connected to past life
experiences; they may be people we knew before. Others are guides who have been
trained to help us eliminate a specific problem in our present lives, such as a
health issue. No matter what category they fall into, guides' intentions are to
comfort, inform and nourish us.
