Jayas (Sanskrit), The twelve great gods in the Puranas who neglect to create men, and are therefore, cursed by Brahma to be reborn "in every (racial) Manvantara till the seventh". Another form or aspect of the

reincarnating Egos.

Death:

Generally understood to be the extinction of an organism's life. Many doctrines assert some form of mental or spiritual survival of physical death.

Rebirth:

In Buddhism, the belief that there is some continuity of mind from one life to the next. Buddhism, however, does not accept the existence of the individual soul and therefore does not view rebirth as the soul's literal re-incarnation.

Circle. There are several "Circles" with mystic adjectives attached to them. Thus we have:

(1) the  "Decussated or Perfect Circle" of Plato, who shows it decussated in the form of the letter X ;

(2) the "Circle-dance" of the Amazons, around a Priapic image, the same as the dance of the Gopis around the Sun (Krishna), the shepherdesses representing the signs of the Zodiac ;

(3) the "Circle of Necessity"  of 3,000 years of the Egyptians and of the Occultists, the duration of the cycle between rebirths or reincarnations being from 1,000 to 3,000 years on the average. This will be treated under the term

"Rebirth" or "Reincarnation".

Huang Ti or Hoang Ty (Chinese) Great spirit; according to a legend, the Great Spirit's sons fall into the Valley of Pain (our earth), by which they acquire new wisdom of the lower spheres, their leader, the Flying Dragon, having drunk of the forbidden ambrosia. They are identical with the Fallen Angels or reincarnating egos (TG 143).

WICCA: A modern Pagan religion with spiritual roots in the earliest expressions of reverence for nature. Some major identifying motifs are: reverence for both the Goddess and God; acceptance of reincarnation and magick; ritual observance of astronomical and agricultural phenomena; and the use of magickal circles for ritual purposes.

TULKU

Tibetan "living buddha." In Tibetan tradition, the Dalai Lama is always reincarnated as a divine being. But a tulku (Tib. sprulku) is also any earth-body employed by a Buddha who has forsaken Nirvana in order to help bring humanity to enlightenment.

ANIMA, ANIMUS: Jungarian concept that ANIMA, is the buried feminine element in a man's psyche & that ANIMUS is the buried masculine element in the female. This then fits to the Pagan views that Self and, or Soul, is both male & female, and with the concepts of reincarnation.

EMPEDOCLES

(5th Century BC, of Acraga). The last of the Presocratic Shamans, whose company included Parmenides, Zeno, Xenophanes, Heraclitus and Pythagoras. He was a healer who sought to reconcile pragmatic this-worldliness and the metaphysical concerns of reincarnation, transcendence, etc.

Wicca - A modern neo-pagan religion with spiritual roots in the earliest expressions of reverence for nature as a manifestation of the divine. Wicca views Deity as Goddess and God; Thus it is polytheistic. It embraces magic and reincarnation, and is in no way associated with Satanism.

Upanishads: The second great collection of ancient sacred Hindu texts, the Upanishads followed the Vedas and set forth doctrines such as Self-realization, Yoga, meditation, karma and reincarnation, which were kept veiled under the symbols of the older texts.

Sanat-sujata (Sanskrit) Always beautiful, perpetually and primevally well-born -- well-born signifying original derivation from spirit rather than from the realms of matter. One of the three groups of esoteric kumaras, "which contains the mystery of generation and reincarnation" (TG 289).

Simulacra [plural of Latin simulacrum image, likeness, phantom]

The kama-rupic images left in the astral light by the reincarnating ego after death, which resemble the former living physical body in appearance but in fact are disintegrating shells only -- kama-rupas which all too often are the "spirits" of the departed of the seance room.

Sahu (Egyptian) The spiritual entity, the entity of the deceased in heaven. According to popular legend it grew out of the dead body and was called into being by the ceremonies performed over the defunct. From the comparatively little that has come down to us, apparently equivalent to the reincarnating ego. In this sense, a spiritual entity, a development of the earthly experiences of the monad.

Myalba dmyal ba (nyal-wa) (Tibetan) Northern Buddhist name for our earth, which they considered a hell for those whose karma it is to reincarnate on it for the purgation of suffering and experience. Exoterically, Myalba is usually translated and is looked upon as one of the hells. Equivalent to the Sanskrit naraka or avichi.

Scientology: Philosophy, quasireligious movement, and system of psychotherapy that elaborated into the Church of Scientology. Science-fiction writer L. (Lafayette) Ron Hubbard (1911-1986), author of the bestseller Dianetics: The Modern Science of Mental Health, founded the church in 1953. The aim of Scientology, whose theory posits reincarnation, is to liberate one's essential Self (the true, spiritual self).

SEX AND DEATH

Death and the entry into the Abyss of Non-Being is the equivalent of the sexual act. As the orgasm is the ultimate affirmation of the body, so the death spasm is the ultimate denial of the body. On the common level we move in and out of Death and Life, in and out of the Void, from Manifestation to reincarnated Manifestation, endlessly. The Samsaric wheel of birth and death is the endless cosmic act of coitus until the final "orgasm" resulting in the bliss of Nirvana.

Reincarnation. We live 700 lives as an animal, 70 lives as a human being learning to overcome the Kama-Manasic levels and, finally, 7 incarnations as an Initiate.

Shaberon zhabs dpad blon (shab-pe-lon) (Tibetan) [from zhabs dpad lotus feet cf Sanskrit padmapada a title of respect + blon, blon po officer, minister]

Exalted officer; often the head of a Tibetan monastery. The Shaberons are mentioned as occasionally possessing wonderful powers, but are not necessarily tulkus of the Buddha (as the Dalai Lama and Tashi Lama are generally believed to be). While the ordinary Lamaist and uninstructed Tibetan supposes these Buddha reincarnations to be those of Gautama Buddha, the instructed or initiated higher classes of the Tibetan hierarchy understand that in great men there is always a ray of the celestial buddha; and therefore that when these great men reincarnate, the buddha ray is likewise reimbodied.

Tera Mai Reiki' (Tera Mai' system): Form of reiki trademarked by artist and psychic Kathleen Ann Milner, the author of On the Edge Between Two Worlds: Ireland and the Ways of Healing, Reiki and Other Rays of Touch Healing (1994), and Tera, My Journey Home: Seichim, Shamanism, Symbology, Herbs and Reincarnation. Reportedly, in 1991 a Higher Being - a man with an Afro wearing orange robes - instructed Milner on the full reiki initiation procedures, which characterize Tera Mai Reiki.
