It starts with a vague feeling of something not quite being 'right'. Sounds are harsher on the ears, you find yourself avoiding your once-beloved candle shop because the scents are so over powering. The mall, once a wonderful Temple of Temptations, has become the ninth circle of hell, as have many other public venues. Noise and crowds now drive you away, rather than excite and attract you. Your 'been-there, done-that' passport is completely filled, and nothing really thrills you any more. It's mindless kiddie stuff now.

Since Steve Rother and the Group first identified the Children of the Crystal Vibration in 1997, the information about these children has exploded. While some of the information is contradictory in nature, we feel that all of it is relevant and of interest to different individuals. The following article is an example of a very unique view of the new children, one that will cause many of you to pause.

In the final analysis, the most important thing to remember about the new children, whether they be labeled Indigos, Crystals, Octarines, Psychic Kids or Star Children, is that they are all our children, yours and mine. I personally look forward to the day that we can simply talk about children, but, in the meantime, please remember that every child is special and deserves the very best of everything!

How do you know if you, or someone you know, is an Indigo or Crystal Child or Adult?

We will describe the main features and characteristics of these people. But we want to stress that the Indigo/Crystal phenomenon is the next step in our evolution as a human species. We are all, in some way, becoming more like the Indigo and Crystal people. They are here to show us the way, and so the information can be applied more generally to all of us as we make the transition to the next stage of our growth and evolution.

In the past few years we have heard much about Indigo Children, Star Children, Psychic Children, and more recently, the Crystal Children. Whether people accept these categories or not, most will agree that the current generation of children is very different to their predecessors.

When interacting with and caring for your Indigo/Crystal child you need to remember that your child is very different to you. What worked for you as a child will not work for them.

Many have asked; what or who are these Indigo Children and how can I help my child, my grandchild, or the student in my class who seems to be one?

Indigo Children are head strong and heart smart. They do not want to do it your way, and often have creative or non- conformist ways of doing things. Many are labeled ADD/ ADHD because of their tendency for activity, inattention and doing things fast. Some have past life recall, trouble sleeping, night terrors, and can "see" or hear things at home especially at night. They have extreme emotional, physical, and spiritual sensitivities that make them "fussy" eaters, "different" from other kids in their class and avoidant of loud noise, people's energy, and touch sensitive. Some days they will be happy, and then, after being around other children, they can have a huge emotional meltdown, angry outburst, or tantrum.

Indigos have very rich and sensualist tastes in music, food, scent, color, and other sensual expression. Adult Indigos are often connoisseurs of music, food, perfumes, art, clothing, or other 'sense-dense' items. They are the ones who will be able to pick out many of the ingredients in perfumes if they have studied perfumery. They also like to dissect the various flavors in foods and wines. The same also applies to music- musical preferences tend toward 'high calorie' and complex sorts: ambient, classical, dense world fusion, jazz, and other 'iconoclastic' forms.

They go by many names, such as Star Kids, Indigos or Crystalline Children. Whatever they're called, believers say this group of prodigies started appearing about 30 years ago and may now make up as much as 90 percent of the population under ten. They also exhibit strange side effects, like a higher resistance to pollutants but an increased sensitivity to sugar and food additives. These are babies born with an inherent knowledge of art, language and spirituality, possessing an impressive wealth of wisdom. I always knew that I was different- not only in appearance from my peers, but also different inside, in my mind and my thoughts. I would tell my childhood peers things that made perfect sense to me (or to an adult), but would go completely over their heads. I was soon labeled a 'weirdo' and shunned. I didn't know it at the time, but most of the stuff that I 'just knew' had to do with the semi-conscious realization that I'd been here before. I say 'semi-conscious' because the veil this life puts over the connection to Higher Self is a heavy and distorting one, and takes many years and much effort to remove or penetrate.

Lee Carroll and Jan Tober are the authors of the Indigo Children books and are wonderful people and personal friends. Lee and I have discussed this point. He and Jan say that the Crystal Children are a sub-set of the Indigo children, whereas the Group says they are markedly different. The word Indigo comes from Nancy Tappe who sees energy fields in a very unusual way. They use this word to talk about all the new children entering the Earth including Star children, Psychic children and more.

In my own spiritual transition to the Awakened state, I suffered and endured many of these changes. Annarita has thoroughly documented many of the symptoms and changes inherent in both the Awakening and the transition into the Octarine stage of Indigo life. Your mileage may vary. And if you find yourself really feeling out of whack, go see your doctor. It is better that you find you're basically OK than to permit a possible major disease like diabetes or heart disease to develop under your nose. Indigo Children are the current generation being born today and most of those who are 8 years old or younger. They are different. They have very unique characteristics that set them apart from previous generations of children. The name itself indicates the Life Color they carry in their auras and is indicative of the Third Eye Chakra, which represents intuition and psychic ability.

These are the children who are often rebellious to authority, nonconformist, extremely emotionally and sometimes physically sensitive or fragile, highly talented or academically gifted and often metaphysically gifted as well, usually intuitive, very often labeled ADD, either very empathic and compassionate OR very cold and callous, and are wise beyond their years.
