Allure of Tantra
Perhaps nothing is more exotic, dramatic and sensational in
Indias Yoga traditions than is the practice of Tantra. No other approach to
Yoga has gained such a fascination for the modern mind and its seeking of the
bizarre, the entertaining and the enigmatic.
Tantra appears to offer both spiritual and worldly success
to a superlative degree. It covers not only internal yogic experiences of
chakras, lokas and deities, but also has many important healing practices for
body and mind. Most notably, it offers special means of heightening sexual
pleasure, making money, gaining recognition and defeating ones enemies - with Tantric methods
available for achieving all human desires. There is in Tantra something for
everyone, especially those who may be put off by ascetic or renunciate
approaches to the spiritual life such as seem to dominate most of the rest of
the Yoga tradition.

| | | | Vastu Shastra Dictionary: Learn to Let Go, Adapt to Change
Today, dealing with change is perceived as a huge challenge. In fact, 'change management' has become a major preoccupation of leaders in all walks of life, including in government, business and institutions. Employees too are grappling with changes in the work place. More than ever before, the number of people individually striving to learn more and grow at a personal level is increasing by leaps and bounds. So they have to learn to adapt themselves to changing situations. Most of us are fairly quick at learning, at cultivating new tastes and fashions. Yet, our first reaction to change is always tinged with suspicion and caution, and in some cases, resistance.

| | | | Vastu Shastra Dictionary: Encyclopedia II - Sufism - Basic beliefsThe central concept in Sufism is love. Dervishes—the name given to initiates of sufi orders—believe that love is a projection of the essence of God to the universe. They believe that God desires to recognize beauty, and as if one looks at a mirror to see oneself, God looks at himself within the dynamics of nature. This is substantiated using the famous Hadith Qudsi (extra-Qur'anic utterance of God): "I was a hidden treasure, and I wanted to be known, so I created Creation." Since they believe that everything is a reflection of God, ...

| | | | | Vastu Shastra Dictionary: The Wisdom of Indigo Children - An Emphatic Restatement of the Value of American Children
Jesse and Mattea are two typical Indigo Children. Jesse, the older of the two, was born in 1987. He was "a ruler on another planet," but an accident caused him to fall into the womb of his mother Renee Weddle and thus he was born on Earth. Jesse prefers the name he was called in his previous life, Thomas, and is frequently in communication with people from that planet where he used to live. He is very sensitive to what other people are feeling, "sometimes to the point where it causes him anxiety" and can read their thoughts. Jesse's younger sister Mattea was born in 1990. Mattea remembers choosing Renee to be her mother so she could teach her "how to be goofy and silly." Mattea, too was probably royalty in a previous life. In this life she speaks with fairies and with gnomes and experiences unusual voices and lights. Jesse and Mattea both are often frustrated by their parents' inability to answer all of their spiritual questions. Sometimes, in fact, it seems that they have the wisdom to be teachers more than their parents do.

Gascony - Origins.
In pre-Roman times, the inhabitants of Gascony were the Aquitanians (Latin: Aquitani), who spoke a language related to the old Basque language. The Aquitanians inhabited a territory limited to the north and east by the Garonne River, to the south by the Pyrenees mountain range, and to the west by the Atlantic Ocean. The Romans called this territory Aquitania, either from the Latin word aqua (meaning "water"), in reference to the many rivers flowing from the Pyrenees through the area, or ...

| | | | Vastu Shastra Dictionary: Encyclopedia II - Sufism - EtymologyA few etymologies for the word Sufi have been suggested.
One etymological theory states that the root word of Sufi is the Arabic word saaf (صاف), meaning pure, clean or blank. This etymology refers to the emphasis of Sufism on purity of heart and soul.
Another view is that the word originates from Suf (صوف), the Arabic word for wool, implying a cloak and refers to the si ...

| | | | | Vastu Shastra Dictionary: Encyclopedia II - Sonar - Sonar in warfareModern naval warfare makes extensive use of sonar. The two types described before are both used, but from different platforms, i.e., types of water-borne vessels.
Active sonar is extremely useful, since it gives the exact position of an object. Active sonar works the same way as radar: a signal is emitted. The sound wave then travels in many directions from the emitting object. When it hits an object, the sound wave is then reflected in many other directions. Some of the energy will travel back to the emitting source. The echo will en ...
